Canoeing Equipment List The Layering System (A four step guide to your ultimate comfort!) Step 1- The Inner Layer- The inner layer should wick away moisture from the skin. Examples include synthetic t-shirts, underwear, and socks. Step 2- The Middle Layer- The middle layer should provide some insulation and protection from the elements. Ideally it should be synthetic or wool. Examples include fleece or wool pants and shirts.
