Instruction: primarily provided by Ben Bouchard, Level II Archery Instructor (National Archery Association)
We keep class size to 10 people or fewer to allow for one-on-one guidance. Fun and engaging archery games used in combination with methods of self-control and mental and physical conditioning (deep breathing, focusing methods and stretching) are designed to develop the well-rounded archer. |

Indoor climbing for the community on a drop-in basis. Come join the family fun! Friday, April 27th will mark the second annual Wall Nuts Summit: a potluck gathering with digital slide show and music for all who have been involved with Wall Nuts. We are also looking for more adults to go through belay training; please call Kyle if you are interested.

Low & High

A 4-day advanced skills training on our new low and high, indoor and outdoor challenge course. One day of a low course overview and 3 days spent on high element facilitation and rescues. Rustic lodging provided, please provide your own food. A full kitchen and showers are available for your use. Enrollment opens first to Camp Beech Cliff contract staff. |
Minimum Age: 21
$350 (free for local residents who will be seeking CBC per-diem employment) |
Leave No Trace: Trainers' Course
Saturday - Sunday, May 26 - 27

For teachers, outdoor educators, camp counselors, or anyone interested in experientially learning more about minimum impact non-motorized recreation in the back country and front country. This two-day, 30-hour course will focus on developing a full understanding of the 7 Leave No Trace (LNT) principles, the reasons behind them and creative ways to teach them to others. All books, educational materials and food costs are included in course fees. LNT Trainer Certification provided by LNT Inc. upon successful completion of the course |
Minimum Age: 21
$100 includes food and books. We will be sleeping in tents. |
Camp Wilderness Instructor Development Workshop

Friday, June 15

Course includes Maine Camp Trip Leader Permit curriculum and LNT Trainer Certificate curriculum.
A 4-day workshop designed to help camp trip staff prepare for wilderness travel with groups. We will backpack and camp along the Appalachian Trail here in Maine and review best practices, reports from the Wilderness Risk Managers Committee, LNT and Maine state trip leader requirements. Successful candidates will earn an LNT Trainer certification and/or Maine Trip Leader permit. Please call Camp for further details. |

National Archery Association: Level I Basic Instructor Course
Saturday, June 16 |
This 12-hour, 1-day NAA Level I Basic Instructor course is designed to qualify instructors for camp programs and other short-term youth programs. Topics include: setting up a range and operating a program, teaching basic shooting techniques, selecting and maintaining equipment, and creating archery games that keep young archers engaged. Certification is valid for 3 years. |
Minimum Age: 15
$150 covers tuition, NAA membership, and books. Rustic lodging available for an additional fee. Please provide your own food. |
