Employment at Camp Beech Cliff Thank you for your interest in working at Camp Beech Cliff, on beautiful Mount Desert Island! As a traditional Maine summer camp and year-round outdoor center, we hire both full-time summer staff and seasonal facilitators for our challenge course programs.

Spring/Fall Facilitators

During the spring and fall, Camp Beech Cliff hosts various school and community groups for experiential programs. These programs integrate topics such as leadership, teamwork, problem solving, communication, and goal-setting. Our challenge course includes low, high and indoor elements, a climbing wall and a large grassy field for New games. Facilitator positions are seasonal and are hired on a per-diem basis. Summer Camp Staff

At Camp Beech Cliff, we promote a balance between the active and the creative, while promoting fun and learning in the outdoors. We consider our staff team a community, as a large number of our staff return each year and work in unison to help all our campers have the best camp experience possible. We look for talented and caring staff members who are committed to their jobs. Our head program staff are trained and experienced in their fields, while many of them are pursuing careers working with children. All summer staff participate in a multi-day pre-camp training that includes child development, health and safety issues, and program planning.

Staff are expected to commit to the following dates:

• All Staff Training:  June 17 - 22nd (off Sunday)
  This is mandatory for all staff
• Camp Sessions, weeks #1-9:  June 23rd - August 21st 

The following are optional dates:

• Specialty Trainings:  June 13-16th (Lifeguard Recertification, Challenge Course, Archery- exact dates TBA)
• Camp Session, week #10:  August 23 – 27th
