Summer Camp Positions!

“…A few weeks spent in a well organized summer camp may be of more value educationally than a whole year of formal school work.”

-Charles Eliot, Former President, Harvard University

(See list of positions below)

At Camp Beech Cliff, we promote a balance between the active and the creative, while promoting fun and learning in the outdoors. We consider our staff team a community, as a large number of our staff return each year and work in unison to help all our campers have the best camp experience possible. We look for talented and caring staff members who are committed to their jobs. Our head program staff are trained and experienced in their fields, while many of them are pursuing careers working with children. All summer staff participate in a multi-day pre-camp training that includes child development, health and safety issues, and program planning.

Applicants should realize that the job of a camp counselor is challenging, demanding, and requires a great deal of patience and understanding. Personal lifestyle sacrifices may have to be made including disconnecting from daily use of digital technology during the camp day. Sensitive and dynamic leadership is necessary to provide youngsters the opportunity to grow, learn to positively relate to others, establish life-long values and increase their appreciation of the natural world.

If you would like to make a difference in the lives of our campers, while enjoying a great summer on Mount Desert Island, we encourage you to apply.

We offer:

Competitive pay
Excellent trainings with certifications
Ability to work in a scenic, outdoor setting
Possible on-site housing for qualified applicants (Small Fee Applies).
