General Public - Wildlife Tracking Certification & Workshop

  • Camp Beech Cliff 264 Beech Hill Road Mount Desert, ME, 04660 United States (map)

Description: This two-day program delivers a Standard CyberTracker Conservation Track and Sign evaluation and field workshop. The certification is performance-based and globally recognized, and is widely regarded as the gold standard in traditional wildlife tracking credentialing. Track and Sign certifications serve a dual purpose: they offer a rigorous certification pathway while also providing an exceptional ecological learning experience. These evaluations are distinctive in their ability to function simultaneously as both a workshop and a certification. Every track or sign question is answered by the group and then explored in depth through discussion. Each evaluator brings their own style and approach, while upholding the same consistent, high-quality standard. No prior tracking experience is required.

Who is this for: This program is open to members of the general public who are interested in deepening their ecological awareness, including but not limited to naturalists, hunters, land stewards, outdoor enthusiasts, guides, students, and anyone committed to strengthening their relationship with the natural world through careful observation and field-based learning. This is a professional-level certification. For many participants, it may count toward professional development hours or continuing education requirements. No prior tracking experience is required.
