Becoming an Outdoors-Woman

A workshop for women…

BOW

Becoming an Outdoors-Woman (BOW) is a program that originated when University of Wisconsin Stevens Point’s Professor Christine Thomas conducted a study that found woman prefer to learn about hunting, fishing, fire building, and outdoor skills in general in a non-competitive environment with like-minded women. BOW has now become a nation-wide program that helps empower women to be confident in their outdoor skills and enjoy their time in nature with ease.

Annual Workshops

Becoming an Outdoors Woman workshops are held seasonally in Maine at multiple locations. These workshops are all designed to provide opportunity for women who are 18 and older to gain or improve skills in hunting, fishing and outdoor recreation in a safe and comfortable environment. If you have been looking for an opportunity to learn new skills, try a new outdoor activity, gain self-confidence or simply be more active in the outdoors - BOW is for you!
